Swimming pools remain open despite the coronavirus outbreak in Hong Kong, though only at partial capacity. Nearly half of public pools in Hong Kong have indicated to their swimming clubs they cannot operate all lanes or facilities designated for swim instruction – something the Hong Kong Recreation and Sports Professionals General Union warns is occurring regularly – while 20 out of 45 public pools had informed these swimming clubs they could not fully operate, without providing an explanation as to why.
