On Monday night at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong, winners of the Hong Kong Prize were revealed at an awards ceremony. Pakistani artist Sameen Agha received the Grand Prize with her marble sculpture A Home is a Terrible Place to Love while Singaporean Demet’s PPE, Paint Palette Emulation took home both Judges Prizes.

The Hong Kong Prize is one of Asia’s coveted honours, receiving thousands of applicants every year. A non-governmental merit-based prize without government or private sponsorship, its mission is to honour and celebrate those whose unheralded efforts have brought about positive changes for others and made our city more compassionate and vibrant; while also encouraging young people to strive towards excellence in studies, work, and life – with its endorsement by both the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Professionals’ Association.
