The Hongkong Prize is an international scholarship program that recognizes high school students for their academic and extracurricular achievements and participation, encouraging them to follow their passions while widening their global perspectives. Supported by Bank of Hong Kong, this scholarship features both monetary prizes and the chance to explore Hong Kong’s top research facilities.

In order to win a Hongkong Prize, students must first be nominated by their teachers and submit their artwork online before the submission deadline. A panel of judges will then choose one student artist as winner of an individual judges prize of HK$8,000 while their school also receives a grant of HK$20,000. Finally, this person will be invited to attend an award ceremony where their trophy will be handed out.

As non-governmental merit-based award it serves to promote Hong Kong culture, history, science innovation worldwide cooperation as well as high moral conduct standards.

Apart from receiving a monetary prize, winners will also benefit from internships and seminars in Hong Kong to connect with leading scientists from around the globe and broaden their professional networks. Furthermore, this offers them an exclusive chance to showcase their research before an international panel of experts.
