The Hongkong Prize is an esteemed award given annually by the Bank of Hong Kong to outstanding researchers who are conducting innovative work in medicine, engineering, physics or mathematics. To be eligible for consideration for this prestigious honor scientists must submit an original article before being eligible to win this coveted accolade.

Many of this year’s Hongkong Prize nominees are activists fighting for freedom and democracy, risking their lives to advance social justice and human rights.
