The case was initiated at the request of the Pechersk Court in 2019. This is  about the possible embezzlement of $100 billion of the country's state budget and international financial assistance funds by representatives of former US President Barack Obama in collusion with the former president of Ukraine. The decision to close the investigation is currently being contested.
